Softball Descriptions/Rules

Senior League Standards

Age Level:  Grades 7, 8 and 9

This league is intended for girls who have had prior experience in Majors softball (but it is not a necessity). This is the most competitive level of softball before entering high school.  Girls will be competing for trophies in a traveling league with single elimination playoffs. The 12inch softball is used in this division. Senior League girls should have an understanding of fundamental softball concepts taught at the Instructional and Minor levels.

These will be reinforced along with learning:

·         Rules- Majority of ASA rules apply (same as high school). Continuous batting order and unlimited substitutions are allowed.

·          Pitching- Distance is 43 feet.

·         Stealing- All bases, unlimited.

Each team will play approximately 10-12 regular season games. Some games may be played under lights. There will travel to nearby towns.

Each team will also practice at once during the week. Games and practices are subject to change due to weather, field availability, and other circumstances.
