Instructional League Standards
Age Level: First and
second grades, Kindergarten on exception basis
This league is intended for girls who are beginners at
softball wanting to learn the basics of fast pitch
softball. This league is also intended for girls who
have played in the T-ball or instructional baseball
leagues and who want to further their knowledge in the
direction of fast pitch softball as opposed to baseball.
All games in this division are played in Hudson
against Hudson teams. This league is designed to be very
low-key with an emphasis on learning versus competing.
Each girl will receive a participation trophy at the end
of the season. The 11” softball is used in this division
with the coaches pitching to the batters. Each player
must play every position at least once during the season
unless the coach feels that there is a significant
safety issue for a child.
·
Batting- Correct
stance, where to stand, proper fast pitch softball
swing, differentiating between a ball and a strike, etc.
·

ball, etc.

responsibilities of each position, what player gets the
