Babe Ruth Majors- 70 Majors- 60 Minors Rookie T-Ball

Babe Ruth

Age Requirement: 13 year olds, and 14 to 15 years old as of May 1st of the current season.

This league is divided into two divisions:  The 13-year-old Prep League and the 14-15 year old division.

The Prep league is a huge step forward in the development of future ball-players. Probably as big as a transition as going from coach-pitch ball to kid-pitch.

The players will build on all the fundamentals they have learned to this point and apply them to the big diamond.

The major differences on playing on a regulation baseball diamond are:

  • 90 ft base paths

  • 60’ 6” pitching distance

  • Stealing bases

  • Throwing distances

  • The balk rule for pitchers (only enforced in the 2nd-half of the season for Prep)

  • Dropped 3rd strike rule for catchers

  • How big that outfield really is (not too many homers in this league)

The 14-15 years continue to develop and solidify their skill set on the big field.  This will allow them to be comfortable moving into competitive high school, Senior Babe Ruth, and Legion ball.

Season Duration:

The season will consist of a 12 – 14 game schedule from late April/early May through mid June.

The aim is to keep it within the school year.

Note – For the 14-15 year olds who play on the 8th-grade team, making it from their practices to a Babe Ruth game or practice can be a challenge – mainly for the parents.   Allowances are made to schedule around 8th-grade baseball games
